Is my TiVo box wireless?

We have a new smart tv.  Can we connect our TiVo box wirelessly?

If you mean add it to your WiFi network. The answer is no to that. HDMI & it’s content protection (HDCP) are a “sealed unit”. There are HDMI video senders on the market, but beware. Not all of them are compatible with VM equipment, particularly the HDCP component, which unless it can see nothing other than a TV in the loop, won’t handshake with the TV & you get no video. It also requires another box plugged into the VM box, & a box plugged into the TV.

Expect a decent quality HDCP 2.2 sender kit to put you back around £100.

Both TiVo & V6 boxes have an HDMI socket for connecting to TVs, the V6 also has an optical connector for any AV kit you may have.

Simply connect one end of the HDMI lead into your TiVo/V6, and the other end into an HDMI port on your TV.

The TiVo & V6 have an HDMI wired output. You may be able to source a gadget that takes the wired output and converts it to a wireless connection - but your VM TV box has a wired output.

        Hi there LouBer

Thank you so much for your post and welcome back to the forums, it's great to have you.

A big thank you to our community team for their help here so far, and as they have stated a wired connection is needed for this Set Top Box. If you do need the Hub to be moved to accommodate this we can book an engineer to take a look, but as stated there is a £25 call out charge for this.

It's £25 for VM to move the TiVo closer to your TV for an HDMI cable connection.
