TV GO blocked - TV360 Offline

Trying to set up recordings from Spain using my iPad. TV GO will not accept any requests. Error messages include box is switched off, please switch it on. 
so I’m confused, I thought this app remotely controlled the box?

I’ve read here that the box needs to be registered via VM website. I do have a box registered on my account but the description (Mydevice 1?) made it look like a placeholder not a real machine. I’ve changed the description to TV 360 but I doubt this is anything more than a label. Is this Is this the problem, my box isn’t registered?

    If the box is switched off at the mains or via the actual on/off switch then it can't be turned on remotely.  It needs to be in standby mode so it can receive any instructions. The standby timer doesn't affect recordings as it will be able to wake up from standby if still powered on and receive yuor instructions.

    You need to have the box set to fast start or active start in the Standby power consumption setting (Press Home > Settings > System > Standby power consumption) and don't turn off at the plug when you go away.

    The Standby timer doesn't affect the recordings, the box will go into standby mode if it's not received any interaction (channel change for example) , you need to have the box set to fast start or active start in the Standby power consumption setting and don't turn off at the plug when you go away.

      Thanks Newapollo,

      I believe I left the box powered up as I had some recordings planned.  It is possible the cleaner turned it off by mistake, but that would be a first. So I expect it is powered on.

      However I do not know whether the fast start /active start mode is selected.  I guess there is no way of checking as the box will not respond in any way. If it is not selected I guess that means that it will not talk to my TV GO app?

      i will check the settings on my return from holiday.
