Wi-Fi speed on 1GB

What speeds are people getting on their Wi-Fi with the 1GB package? I am struggling to get over 80mbps on both my fire stick and iPhone 14, I have 2 Wi-Fi pods both located around 3 metres apart with the hub just above them, I struggle to crack 100mbps when iPhone is next to the hub. Wired speed is 920mbps

I expect the Fire Stick is connecting to the 2.4 GHz band and that would be the maximum speed for that band. It’s up to devices which ban they connect to, usually the one with the greatest signal. If you do not have pods you should split the bands and try connecting to the 5Ghz SSID.

  • Get yourself a eero 6 pro them pods are not very good in my opinion I get around 500mbps on my phone and laptop but as for fire stick even the 4k max I've never been able to get over 350-400mbps on mine.

Look on FB marketplace you should get one for around £50-£60

Get a better wifi router with 1Gb ports or better use hub in modem mode

Well the HUB 4 is Wi-Fi 5 so maximum connection speed on the iPhone would be 866Mbps, so in real world around 500-600Mbps.

If you turn off both pods and are within a few feet of the HUB 4 does the speed improve?

Pods must be equal distance between hub and target machine. If they are in the same location it’s useless.

I think he means the POD's are upstairs and the HUB is downstairs but still 3 meters apart for the POD's is not right.

You are not meant to put them in the blackspot, it goes half way there.

I can get 600Mb/s on the HUB4 and single SuperPOD in my home (limit of their WIFI 5ac) so link Speed is 866 AFAIR and before we were given POD's in my kitchen it was down to 144 but the actual real speed was far lower (double figures).
