GDPR and PECR violation
First of all I want to state that there does not seem to be a way to opt out of marketing in the account settings, that in itself seems very dodgy. I can select audio and braille as opposed to my standard contact details, but they my account statements would be provided in the same way. The details I require for my account should not be available for marketing purposes without my consent, but there is no way to remove this information (fields cannot be left blank)
Secondly, I keep getting calls by East Asian sales staff that clearly ignore when I say I do not want to be contacted. It is possible that this is a scam, but if it isn't, then Virgin Media is flirting with danger, since this a clear breach of GDPR and PECR laws. I have registered with TPS a few days ago, but it takes up to 28 days to take effect - I just don't know if I'll last that long before I start swearing on the phone.
I will take this further if it doesn't stop.
