There are endless tails of woe from VM door to door sales team.
It a "here today and gone by tomorrow" type of commission sales culture that invites fraud.
Typically offering an attractive price for a package verbally only to go away to sign you up to a far higher price (hence higher sales commission) that can be impossible to cancel if the first bill occurs out side the 14 day cooling off period.
I would only consider an order that you have initiated and placed directly to VM preferably online
where the price and service are displayed and confirmed in writing. - JackPaytonJoining in
Thanks, I think I more just want to verify they work for Virgin than anything else seen some similar posts where people seem to get it sorted

Wise advice from Client62. We see regular topics on here about the dubious antics of some VM field sales agents. See how well the agent follows this checklist from the .gov website
https://www.gov.uk/doorstep-selling-regulations
If you do agree to sign up, get everything in writing and before the agent leaves.
A VM forum team person should reply here, usually within a few days, and verify the agent's identity for you.

I suspect the salesman has verbally offered a price that will turn out to be to good to be true.

Ah, yes. After re-reading, it looks like the deed may already be done!
