Update your browser!

A zero day threat has been discovered on Chromium based browsers (Edge, Chrome etc).  Go to the three dots, Help,  About <browser> then check for updates.

    I had some difficulty with the edge and chrome browser updates, would not update, said update already running?

    There was an error code-

    (error code 7: 0x80040902: 60 -- system level).

    I did a restart and my computer updated, yet nothing in widows update records, so may have been a google update which prevented browsers updating until I did a restart.

    I was then able to complete the manual browser udates to the latest versions mentioned in the two previous posts, on the chrome and edge browsers, also updated my waterfox browser, no issue with that.

    I found help on this link-useful.

    Chrome hits 118!

    Chrome is up to date
    Version 118.0.5993.71 (Official Build) (64-bit)

    No groovy landing page, but there are pop ups.

        Avast hits 118!

        Avast Secure Browser is up to date
        Version 118.0.22847.89 (Official Build) (64-bit)

        There's updates for Edge and Chrome too:

        Microsoft Edge
        Version 118.0.2088.57 (Official build) (64-bit)

        Chrome is up to date
        Version 118.0.5993.89 (Official Build) (64-bit)

        As a reminder, it should be noted that not all updates are automatic (sometimes they aren't picked properly) and there were two updates with Chrome as a restart was required in the above case.  It would also be a good idea to reboot your device.

    Edge has another update:

    Microsoft Edge
    Version 112.0.1722.64 (Official build) (64-bit)

    The new format doesn't really help with this thread as all the posts are now not in order.

      Edge hits 113!  There's some groovy landing pages explaining how much grooviness has been added.

      Microsoft Edge
      Version 113.0.1774.35 (Official build) (64-bit)[manual update]

      Avast stays on the 112 version as below.

        The relaunch button doesn't always work.

        Chrome is up to date

        Difficult to keep track of this now it's no longer in order.

        Chrome has 2 updates, one which sneaked through.

        Chrome is up to date
        Version 112.0.5615.139 (Official Build) (64-bit) [automatic update]

        However, this is now obsolete as Chrome hits 113!

    Edge should update itself automatically, (it did earlier) but if it doesn't, follow the above instructions.
