Broadband

Hey all, just got a quick question, so I’m currently with Vodafone as my broadband provider and soon I’ll be moving homes, and Vodafone broadband will not be available at the new place, so should I switch providers now, or do I wait till I’ve actually moved into my new place . Thanks in advance

I would have thought you do whatever suits you best?  However what providers are at your new place?  Are they using the One Touch Switching service?  Lots of questions only you know the answer to?

I would avoid signing a new 18 to 24 month ISP contract at the current home when you are about to move out.

Just imagine how high the termination fees would be if it turned out the chosen ISP failed to supply at the new property due to an unforeseen snag with damaged cables / fibres or capacity or they simply did not consider a change of address to be continuity of service.

We have seen with VM that a change of address may not mean an early termination fee, but it sure does mean the start of a new 18 month contract.  Keep it as simple as possible.

You'll get various answers here. Mine would be to wait until you are in the new house and then see what's available at what price and how long each will take to install. (Some VM installs take weeks or months).

In the meantime, check what 4g/5g service is like at the new house so you know what mobile internet will be like while you are waiting for installation.
