ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Virgin Media Volt Speed Boost Activation Hi Martin_N, It's still the same. I've been getting around 270Mbps since installation - no increase at all when the boost was applied. I think either someone needs to log an IT ticket (the 5x specialist team supposedly did this, but all they did was monitor the line for a couple of days - nothing further came of it), or swap the Hub (not sure if that will resolve it though). Something really needs to change with the support for Hub 5x customers. The specialist team don't seem to have a clue - the solutions they offered were WiFi pods (not going to help with line speed into the hub!) and upgrading to a higher package (just ridiculous and shows their lack of understanding of the problem). Hub 5x customers pay the same as legacy customers, but in my experience receive limited support - the community staff, X, WhatsApp and live chat teams can't help. Re: Virgin Media Volt Speed Boost Activation An update a month on.. The problem still isn't solved - still getting M250 speeds even though my account is boosted to Volt 350. I've had several unproductive calls to the "specialist Hub5x team" - clueless. I've had an engineer visit which was booked for tomorrow cancelled without being informed (apparently there was an issue in my area which has been resolved, so the appointment was automatically cancelled. It was unrelated to the issue I have, and I now have to wait a further two weeks for a weekend appointment). I have logged a formal complaint a week and a half ago, but have had no response so far. Not impressed... Re: Volt. Speed Boost One of the forum team (Megan_L) helped me earlier in the week and filled in a form to check that Volt was active. Maybe one of the team on here can do the same for you? I had an email response within a couple of hours. Re: Volt speed boost benefit not activated I still have the same problem too. In my case the boost is definitely applied to the account - but the speed hasn't increased. The complication is that it's an XGS-PON fibre line and the support is only available via a ring fenced team on the support line - the forum team here haven't got the tools to assist. When I phone the specialist team they send signals to the hub, say to wait 48 hours, but nothing changes - even after reboots of the hub. When you phone again you get a different agent who does the same thing. An engineer came out, he couldn't resolve it. Ideally I need a way to escalate the issue to a higher level of tech support, but that doesn't seem possible. Re: Volt speed Hi Megan_L, I applied for Volt straight after install on 13th April. The O2 side all went through OK and was active by 18th April. Various customer service/support team members have said that the Volt boost is showing as active on my account, but there has been no speed increase. I had an engineer visit yesterday to look into it - he also said that all the systems he could see showed the boost had been applied - but despite short and long pinhole resets on the Hub 5x, the speed still hasn't increased. He enquired with some senior engineers, but no solution was found. I'm not really sure where to go from here. Re: Volt. Speed Boost I've been chasing mine up too. Similarly to you, my boost from M250 to M350 is apparently active, but the speeds haven't increased. The support team on the forums don't have the tools available to them to support with the fibre XGS-PON network. They said I should call the tech support line as there is a specialist team who can help. In the meantime I'd been on the live chat. They tried sending some commands to the Hub 5X, but the speed still hadn't increased. I got back on to them again and they have now arranged an engineer visit for Saturday. Personally, I think it's some kind of provisioning issue rather than a hardware problem - but hopefully the engineer will have the resources/prior experience to get it resolved. Re: Volt speed Hi, I have the same situation (mine is a FTTP with a Hub 5x ). Customer service confirm that the speed boost has been applied, the package details in the SamKnows speed test show 350x35, but I'm still getting M250 speeds. How did you get yours resolved? Re: Volt. Speed Boost I'm also on the FTTP M250 package expecting to see it boosted to the M350. I was in touch with customer service via Twitter/X this afternoon - they told me that the speed boost had already been applied to my account. However, the line still speed tests (using the SamKnows RealSpeed test) exactly the same as it did on the day of installation at around 270Mbps. The thing I found interesting is that on the SamKnows test it shows my Service provider as "Virgin Media, 350x35" - which makes me think it should be the 350 Mbps download and 35 Mbps upload offered by the M350 package. I'd be interested to see what the "Service provider" shows as for others on the M250 and M350 packages. Re: Volt. Speed Boost Hi, I have exactly the same situation (posted the same question this morning). I've noticed that the My VM page doesn't seem to show which package I have anywhere that I can see. I don't know whether it's maybe because it's fibre? Watching your thread for a solution. Virgin Media Volt Speed Boost Activation Hello, I had Virgin Media full fibre installed two weeks ago today. I was already an O2 customer, and the Volt benefits activated on my O2 account within 4 days or so of the Virgin installation. However, the Virgin speed boost doesn't seem to have been applied as yet. I read that it should happen within 14 days (presumably from the installation date) - which we are now at. Is there anything I need to do in order to get the boost activated? Many thanks, Glyn
