It just doesn't work. Also, the hub software is crap. I'll go to change a setting and it'll log me out, then when I try to log back in it'll tell me there's already a session open, and I'll have to wait like 15 minutes before I can open it again. Re: Hub 4 no longer allowing certain wired connections? Yeah, That was my suspicions too but it's really annoying. It is demonstrably broken. I can even prove that the TP-Link works fine by tethering my phone! What's to stop them from blaming anything else in the chain though? e.g. my laptop's port etc Hub 4 no longer allowing certain wired connections? Hello, I have a Hub 4 and the wifi signal isn't great so I bought a TP-Link router/access point about a year ago. I put the Hub in modem mode and used the TP-Link as a router to some of those powerline ethernet adaptors (so I could hardwire my cctv box) and as an access point for everything else. I also got a repeater/mesh network thing to increase my connection at my home office. Everything was working great with this set up, no issues for a year whereas with the hub as the router/access point I was having a lot of issues. Last week, there was a disruption in the area, that took the internet out. I was advised to reset the hub, so I did, but the TP-Link access point was still not picking up any internet. So I put the hub in router mode, and now I'm back to the same problems I initially had with the hub, with the added issue of the LAN ports not working with the powerline or the TP-Link. This is with both the TP-Link as a wireless router (which requires the hub to be in modem mode) or AP mode (which takes a wired connection from the hub and converts it into a wireless signal). The LAN ports are not completely broken as I can connect a laptop over ethernet and still get a connection from 3 of the 4 ports. Virgin keep cancelling technicians as they can see I'm able to get online, but the connection isn't good. I don't want to buy more (especially proprietary) hardware to solve this.
