Finally got a response from JCIA who VM told me to contact to be told they dont have any details of me under the ref number sent to me. So ref number supplied doesnt work when put into CRS site and JCIA know nothing about me, yet virgin have posted a default against me for a debt i dont owe and still getting threatening texts from dodgy CRS firm. Have contacted FCA who have given me details of Financial Services Register to contact. .....Through all this the only information ive ever been sent is texts demanding i click a link to pay money for a 'debt' i know absolutely nothing about. Ive never had any details of what i owe any money for or anything. The texts dont even say what its for. When i closed my account with VM 2 years ago i did everything correctly as asked and returned all the equipment (which they acknowledged receipt of). Now they are trying to make me (and everyone else thats being screwed feel like a criminal). It seems they have falsely made up debts and then just sold them to debt collectors. This is either deliberate on their behalf or a mistake was made and they dont have the balls to just admit it, apologise and sort it out. It's not about the 60 quid. If there was a genuine mistake and VM contacted me directly to discuss i wouldn't have had a problem and just paid it. But to think that without me knowing they they just came up with a debt and then just sold it off to damage me is disgusting. And then refuse to discuss it just because im an ex customer. If they think im going to roll over and just be robbed they can think again. Re: IMFS debt collectors for mysterious bill from 2021 good luck with getting VM to assist in any way. Myself and others have tried but they refuse to discuss anything. As far as im concerned now though im taking CAB's advice and ignoring it. They put the code into the verified CRS pay site (as i didnt want to risk dealing with them in any way) and they confirmed the code was completely wrong format and wouldnt allow them to proceed after the first 1 or 2 digits were attempted, so clearly a scam. My code starts JEFP and apparently if was genuine wouldn't be that. We shall see what happens. im sure there will be further threats issued. Re: IMFS debt collectors for mysterious bill from 2021 To further update. Been speaking with citizens advice bureau. i gave them the code that was given on the messages to me. They said the code supplied is an incorrect CRS format. They just advised to ignore and delete/block everything where possible and dont respond in any way Re: IMFS debt collectors for mysterious bill from 2021 No JCIA havent contacted me its crs sending messages on behalf of them. I emailed JCIA as per VM suggestion and been waiting to see if they contact me. Re: IMFS debt collectors for mysterious bill from 2021 the number they have given this time to call has changed again. This time its [REMOVED] A quick google shows it's a scam number. [MOD EDIT: number edited in case it's an innocent number being spoofed] Re: IMFS debt collectors for mysterious bill from 2021 just to give an update. I contacted JCIA as per Virgin media suggestion almost a week ago and have had no response from them at all. I am still getting notifications and emails from crs, mostly recently a few minutes ago. They are now threatening to escalate further if i dont pay up Re: IMFS debt collectors for mysterious bill from 2021no i remember doing it all over the phone. Guy said all sorted. never thought anything more about it apart from i had to end the router back which i didRe: IMFS debt collectors for mysterious bill from 2021 After a few messages this morning asking for my information Virgin 'cannot' discuss further. So a debt has been assigned to me that i have no knowledge of, with no explanation. They wont discuss it other than to say a debt has been sold on. They have never phoned, texted, or emailed me in the last 22 months. So what debt? I have never owed anyone a penny in my life. This is a huge scam. This is not about the money. its less than 60 quid. its now about the principal. I'm not just going to be robbed. I will be spreading the word about VM dodgy practices and writing to their CEO Lutz as well as all legal options. Worse part is when i moved we took out anther contract with VM which i shall be cancelling as soon as legally able to Re: IMFS debt collectors for mysterious bill from 2021 I appreciate the reply Rob but a few questions: Why, if i owed VM money (which i don't) havent they contacted me at any time over the past 20 months since i cancelled? Thats what the people at VM i spoke to said would have happened. And why do VM claim complete ignorance and failure to help when they had the account? They must still hold the account records! Why is it impossible to get VM to discuss this with me and sort it out rather than me have to deal with dodgy debt collection agencies, which btw, the very first text i had from mycrs said 'your debt owed remains oustanding. Log in now to clear your balance.'.. and then a link was supplied. As if im going to click a link from somewhere ive never heard of in a random text. Is this how VM debt collection process works... just send out random texts after 18 months, demanding money for no reason and no proof other than they say so? Re: IMFS debt collectors for mysterious bill from 2021 Apologies for jumping on this but i too have been having this exact same issue. i cancelled my VM contract in April/May 2021. Never heard anything since and in last couple of weeks been inundated with texts supposedly from mycrs telling me to click link and pay 59 quid owed. Was apparently owed to VM but now later texts say i owe ##SUNDRYALPHA10## who ive never heard of and today i got an email from mycrs saying i owe the money to their client JC international Acquisition. i have tried to speak to Virgin and got similar response that they couldn't check as my account is closed but that they wouldn't send out any texts if they were chasing money so assume its a scam? I would like someone at VM to contact me too please.
