I did get the email about this, but my contract has now been amended and is running out when it should be. However I called up VM to see what they could offer me and while on the phone I mentioned the email I received. They were able to offer me at lowest £36 for a package I was paying £32 for on my previous contract. I did mention that in the email it states contracts would rise by £7 in April. So realistically I would be paying £43. But I was told this didn’t apply to new contracts? I would remain on £36 despite price increases. They also told me that any future price rises would trigger a notification email like the one I received and would give me the option to leave, despite the contents of the email stating the complete opposite. I argued with the guy saying I have it in writing that as the price rises are now built into the contract the option to cancel has been revoked. But he was clearly chasing a sale and willing to give out false information. So at the minute I’m shopping around. I wonder if any of the VM staff here on the forum could clear up what I was told? Re: Moving home and being placed on to a new contract without contest This is my third time posting here and I don’t know how many times I’ve called up about this issue. As you can see by my previous post I moved house last June. My contract was due to expire in February however I was put into a new 18 month contract. After speaking here I was privately messaged, told the contract would be shortened and apologised to. I check my bill for this month and it’s gone up. I call up to ask about the contract length and I am told I have 9 months remaining. I don’t know how many times I’ve been lied to now about the issue being sorted out. Please can someone contact me to sort this out once and for all. I am starting to lose it Re: Moving home and being placed on to a new contract without contest The same thing has happened me (Again!) Moved home in June. Explained what had happened previously to the advisor on the phone and stressed I wanted to keep current package and contract the same. They advised I would not be put on a new contract! Fast forward to move in time and there are messages about my new contract. I check online and there’s a brand new 18 month contract for my new address. The best part is that my price increases from February 2023 right up until the end of the new contract (November 2023) and there’s nothing I can do about it! Absolute joke and confirmation this is done on purpose! I’ll be paying £25 a month more for the same services without any opportunity to renegotiate at the end of my supposed contract. I’ve been on the phone several times in the last few months to sort this out only to get moved from department to department with no one willing to help. Please can I get a private message here so this issue can be addressed! Michael Re: Moving home and being placed on to a new contract without contest Looks like this is deliberate. Same story for me. Moving house and keeping services the same. Told the guy on the phone this. I wanted the same contract. He even confirmed the end date as this July. Only a £20 moving fee applied. Not only were the services stopped in the previous address 2 days before we had agreed, but the next day I receive an email to say welcome to my new 18 month contract. The people on the phones either need training or are being deliberately deceptive. I was told that moving house creates a new contract and there’s nothing I can do about it. Didn’t seem to matter when I directed them to their moving website or their own terms and conditions. Eventually (after hours) I get through to someone who sends me an email to say to ignore the new contract, the end date of the old contract will continue. He again confirmed the contract would end July this year, not November 2022. That was two weeks ago. Today I called up out of curiosity to check my contract end date. It’s November 2022! I spoke to someone who told me he could see the notes on the account and the previous agent had marked it as cleared. Clearly not. He said he contacted his manager who will resolve the issue in the next few days but I’m not holding my breath. Please can I get this resolved on here.
