V6 box repeatedly reboots

If I have been watching TV and then leave the box on but put the TV to standby, the next time I switch on the TV, the box often, but not always, reboots.  This process takes several minutes and is very annoying; I miss the first part of the programme...

Tivo misses some recordings or cuts them short.

Most of the time the TIVO box works fine for recordings, but sometimes misses completely or only records part of the dedicated programme.. Mainly defaults when there is a series link set.  How can I correct this, please?
