14 Day Cooling Off Period
Hi I signed up to virgin broadband last but decided to cancel, after a couple of days, under the 14-day notice period Para M of the T&Cs. So, I have cancelled with the installs team last week, and I was told I would get an email to confirm my account had been closed. Still nothing after over a week now. I did chase up a few days ago by phone and have had it verbally confirmed that contract is cancelled. Yet I am still waiting written confirmation, an email or text. We do I go from here please? It is getting a little frustrating. Thanks.Solved519Views0likes11CommentsFourteen day cooling off period
The contract I have received for my broadband order states: “To cancel you have FOURTEEN days from the later of: (i) the day after the delivery of the equipment; (ii) the service start date; or (iii) the day you received this contract (that provides a link to the Terms and Conditions)." Does this mean that it is fourteen days from whichever of these happens the latest? For example, I received the contract on 29th Feb, but my installation/service start date isn't until 29th March. Do I have fourteen days from installation/service start as this is the "later of" of the three options listed in the contract?13KViews0likes5CommentsHow do I find out if my account has been cancelled during cooling off period
I recently signed up to virgin media but after discovering how much work would be required for the install I changed my mind as allowed within the 14 day cooling off period. Unfortunately this was when I discovered the widespread reports of poor customer service by virgin media! True to form I have been passed from department to department, inexplicably cut off several times and kept on hold. Finally after a lot of convincing somebody has told me that my account has been cancelled, however I have received no correspondence from virgin media confirming this. From what I can tell (from the virgin app) I have no upcoming installation which would suggest that this is no longer scheduled, but my account appears still to be active which makes me worried that I will still be charged for something that I do not and never will have. I’ve also read other stories of people who have been verbally that their account has been cancelled only to discover that this hasn’t been actioned. Can anybody advise on what the next steps are and if or when I would expect to hear anything from virgin about my cancellation? Thanks!885Views0likes2Comments
