hi is everyone as fed up as i am with virgin media ??  fed up that every time it comes to renew, new customers get a better deal !. i have been with virgin for 18 yrs now, and in that time not once have they offered me anything to stay. it seems that loyalty is not worth the reward but  customers that bounce between virgin and sky get rewarded for doing so.

a new customer will get the top volt package for £79 yet me loyal for 18 yrs £94 and some odd pennies. £270 more over length of the contract . us existing customers are been totally ripped off and funding new customer deals. this has to stop !!

all us existing customers of virgin media we need to club together and petition parliament to try and put an end to this endless rip off.

for me there is a light at the end of the tunnel, lila connect. fibre that rivals virgin in speed a hub that gives you better Wi-Fi speeds all for £29.95. i would rather stay as i am as I'm not a fan of keep chopping and changing over pennies but this isn't pennies any more it hundreds of pounds.

If only there was a £ for every time this subject came up...

The current arrangement is actively encouraged by the industry regulators and is the business model VM have chosen. If you don't like it, then - to be blunt - you should find a provider who doesn't play it. I doubt Parliament will care much, but you're welcome to setup a petition.

Otherwise, it's far easier to just play the game. Get alternative prices every 18months and negotiate with VM as to why you should keep their services and not disconnect.

The best wireless solution can often be to use the VM hub as a modem but then supply your own WiFi router or mesh kit. You're likely to get much better results, as well as owning the equipment.

yes i could do that !

the question is why should/ i shouldn't. vm sky should look after the customers not rip them off. the service as a whole is better than anything else in my area . light at the end of the tunnel (lila) is coming very soon

Lila Connect is an offer for new customers in a limited number of towns, once the initial contract is up watch for the price increase.  Also you are comparing the Lila BB only package to the Ultimate Volt package from VM.  How much will you have to pay another service provider for UHD TV, Sky Sports and Movies, Netflix, O2 unlimited SIM, unlimited landline calls and equipment maintenance during the term of the contract? I bet you wont get all that for £64!

Looking at Sky for a similar package as VM's Ultimate Volt you are looking (as a new customer) £105 for the TV and £30 for a 60GB SIM so £135 all in without a landline.

I have been wit Virgin since it was NTL, and that's a lot more than 30 years.

New customers seem to get a better deal but very often you are just looking at the cost of one element of the package.

I have gigabit broadband, landline and 3 set top boxes with full service including Sky Sport for less than £100 a month, it is not an expensive service, and it is reasonably reliable, seems like you are just whinging looking for a discount

If you feel so strongly go to Sky for a year - but I guarantee you will regret that BT served broadband over copper wire you end up with
