I've recently re-contracted with Virgin, moving to a Volt package. This included leaving Virgin Mobile and moving to O2 for our SIM. We want to keep the same mobile number.
When I spoke to VM about all this on Saturday the VM agent said he was putting the PAC code through as he ordered the new SIM.
The new SIM arrived yesterday and was swapped in the iPhone. Old SIM was put to one side. However, it's now nearly 24 hours later and the new SIM is still on the temporary number. This is frustrating since there are people trying to ring on the old number.
I've seen this;

I also have a valid PAC code that I obtained myself (we were simply going to leave and go elsewhere before then deciding to re-contract). Should I put that through again myself? Do we just need to allow more time?

As far as I can tell you can only have one current PAC which will expire after 30 days if not used.
Reading between the lines since yuo;ve already received one and not used it yet, then that will prevent VM from issuing a new one, until you either use the current one or leave it expire.

Okay - thanks
Well the VM agent supposedly put it through on Saturday when ordering the SIM. I also put it through yesterday (using PAC code obtained Friday morning) with a note and contact details. Nothing has seemingly happened.
She (my wife who mainly uses the SIM) will want a phone while out today, so hopefully it doesn’t get cut off.
I guess I’m either going to have to try putting a new? PAC code through again or calling O2.

I called O2
The number port requests hadn’t gone through due to an ‘error’.
One blamed on me not entering SIM serial number correctly (I believe I put it on the form properly but I suspect they have a formatting issue? No explanation as to why the one put through by VM failed.
Poor service really - especially as they didn’t bother telling me, despite leaving an alternative contact number - and Virgin not liaising properly with O2.
Now two communications companies, jointly owned, that don’t talk to each other!
Supposedly number transfer is put through now, email confirmation received, but have to wait until next week for the phone to be working correctly.

As per ‘sister’ thread - number port still not done despite three separate requests.
One by VM, one me online and, on Friday, via an O2 customer services phone agent. Confirmed by email from 02 but not done.
Latest excuse is ‘server issues’.
Another excuse was ‘you weren’t in UK’ - last time I checked Ipswich and London are in the UK!
Poor service, hassle, grief and people including doctor and hospital can’t reach us.
Now delayed again until tomorrow.

Having contacted Virgin/O2 four times our number was ported out from Virgin Mobile yesterday - but not ported in
I put the old Virgin SIM card in an old handset and saw that the line stopped working on that at about 11AM yesterday, as re-arranged during 4th call. We were on a trip to London at the time. That SIM no longer has a signal.
However, the number that we want to keep has not come through to O2 - that new O2 SIM still has the 'temporary' number on it this morning.
We kept checking yesterday and we have turned the iPhone off/on multiple times, including this morning.
Before I ring O2 again, is there anything else we should be doing?

Now said to be delays, blockage and backlog on O2 servers!

Hi @g0akc
I am very sorry to hear about the issues you are having with the nmber port to O2.
Do you now have the correct number?
Please pop back to us when you can.
