Is my bill correct?

I recently renegotiated my contract for the 1gig Volt package with 02 Sim for £89 p/m and i've just had £26 (or something like that) taken from my account by O2. Is my Virgin bill going to be £63 or did the retentions guy I spoke to fail to mention that the package isn't £89 p/m total but is in fact £89 + £26 p/m?

Hi @SirAGFC

You should have received a contract by email with all the details and pricing. Check your inbox and also spam/junk boxes.

If it's the Ultimate Voltpackage then it's £89 a month for new customers, however when current customers negotiate a new deal some have been offered the new customer pricing too, which is hopefully what's happened to your goodself.  If so the contract should show the VM price as £64 per month,  the O2 sim  would be billed separately by O2 at £25 per month.

If you've just got the Gig 1 broadband then it's normally £62 a month to VM  and an additional sum to O2 for whichever sim you selected.

I renegotiated my contract a few weeks ago and noticed yesterday that my bill was going to be £10 p/m more than I agreed to over the phone. I called them up and was told I was paying £10 p/m for a "security package" which surprised me as this was the first time I was hearing about it. No where in my contract do I see any reference to any such package.

And what exactly is this "security package" anyway? Do Virgin sell us insecure broadband unless we pay them £10 p/m to turn on the "secure" setting?

Surely it's not even legal to tack on extra charges to an agreed contract without consent or mention of it in said contract?

That's the thing that winds me up the most. I am sure there are many, including myself, looking at the figures quoted in this post and saying 'bloody hell, why was I put on to an £85 contract for Gig 1 plus £25 for the O2 SIM' when I swicthed from Ooomph to Volt.
