Local TV area

I live in Worthing and want to watch both ITV and BBC local news for West Sussex and Hampshire but I get Kent. I am told that Virgin need to change some setting. When I phone the question always seems too hard for the technician who just cuts off the call. How can I make this happen?

Re: Local TV area

This has been discussed many times before.

Virgin cannot change the TV region available to you owing to the way the network was built. TV region availability on cable is determined by the cable headend you are downstream of.

Worthing is connected to the Brighton headend, which is in the South East region, so only South East regional programmes are available from it.

If you have a V6 box you can use the BBC iPlayer to watch any region you want, but otherwise the only way to get BBC South/Meridian South is to use Freeview via a rooftop aerial pointed at Rowridge.

Cable customer since 1993. Services: FH TV, Sky Sports/Cinema (2xV6), Talk Anytime Phone, 350M BB, Virgin PAYG Mobile
