In the past few days my Virgin TV Control app has refused to connect or, at best, taken ages to.I've rebooted my V6 and reinstalled the app - all to no avail.Please advise.

You're not alone, I have the same issue, just takes ages to connect.
I have even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but it makes no difference.
Thankfully I don't use it often!
In my experience, it does take a long time to connect, around 30 seconds, but it always completes.

Until last week, it would connect at five seconds or less. Now, it takes a minimum of 34 seconds (on test timings tonight).If my phone goes to lock screen before connecting and then I unlock the screen, the app will never connect.I'm not too unhappy, knowing now not to let the screen go into lock so that 34 seconds-ish is as long as I'll have to wait.Still frustrating though given the speed of it up till last week.
Have you recently had the latest software update to V6. Perhaps it’s related to that?
I have had it and it did cross my mind.
I’m fairly sure that the software update to V6 is the cause of what you are seeing.
It doesn’t bother me as it is always long but always connects for me.
