VM 360 Box software update?

My question is:

How do i tell which TV box iv've got?

How do i check & update the software?

There's photos of the different boxes at https://www.virginmedia.com/care/tv-fault/which-tv-box - V6 runs TiVo-software and has the TiVo logo in the top-right of the menu next to the video preview.

All software updates are pushed out automatically, there's no mechanism for checking newer versions as this is all done for you.

Or are you asking about a conversion from TiVo-software-V6, to Horizon-software-TV360?

There's numerous past threads on this subject - TiVo/V6 vs TV360 has been debated many time, and probably will again.

A headline view is that TiVo/V6 is a superb recording box with a good streaming option added on. The interface isn't the newest, but is very functional.

TV360 has a much newer interface, and is designed around voice-commands, but does trade the loss of some of the functions of TiVo/V6 for the newest streaming apps. It has Paramount+ & Disney, which V6 will never have.

You could ask 10 people on this forum which is better, and I rather suspect you'd get 5 answers each way.
