V6 Box

unhappyme
Tuning in

Over several weeks I have experienced an intermittent simultanious disruption (spike) to the picture and audio on my tv box. At all times it only lasts for 1 second at most. I have tried rebooting the box but it has not made any difference.

This only happens when only viewing through the tv box and not when viewing from either freeview or other external channels. Yesterday was the worst so far when it was occurring at a rate of 8 - 10 per hour and is clearly seen happening on several programmes I recorded.

Please advise if this is a problem is with the tv box or from the cabling outside.

Is this happening on any particular channel(s) or video source? By video source I mean OnDemand, live TV or streaming?

Can you post up a video of the problem?

If it happens across different video sources, then a new HDMI lead/alternate HDMI port would be the first thing to try.

Hi @unhappyme

Thank you for your post and welcome back to our community.

I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having with the picture on the TV box.

I can see @japitts has asked some great questions to help determine what might be causing the issue.

If you could please pop back to us with the answers to those questions, we can look into this further for you.

Hi,

Thank you for your response and my replies to your questions are

Is this happening on any particular channel(s) or video source? By video source I mean OnDemand, live TV or streaming? -- This only happens when watching through the V6 box and it can occur on any channel. It does not occur at all when viewing live tv (freeview) Netflix or Amazon directly from the TV. The problem is intermittent and there is no pattern as to when it can occur, it may not happen at all on one evening and make up for it the next.

Can you post up a video of the problem? --- I don't know how to do that.

If it happens across different video sources, then a new HDMI lead/alternate HDMI port would be the first thing to try.---- As mentioned above other video sources are not affected only channels viewed directly through the V6 box.

Please note that I have rebooted the box but that has not made any difference. Recordings I have made also show the frequency of the interuptions.

Take a photo and/or video of this, and use these buttons at the top of a reply window, to add that to this forum thread.

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

I am not too knowledgable to download a URL so i have copied the link below for you which I hope will work.

I have video'd BBC1 BBC2 and ITV just to show that it is happening on other channels and not just one. The video clip you see is the worst i have seen this to happen so far and appears to be getting worse.
