Just upgraded in the week and I've had the Sky Sports HD package added but they are not active at the moment

How and when did you do this package change? Telephone based changes are usually effective immediately, but online onee can take a couple of days.
You can synch your EPG with your package by following Home > Help & Settings > Help > TV Care > I'm missing some channels.

It was upgraded by phone and my new router arrived yesterday
