Re: Sky Sports HD Poor Quality

I absolutely notice a difference in picture quality between BT Sports HD and Sky Sports HD.  Sky Sports HD is barely better than SD quality.  I do hope Sky Sports UHD isn't to far away and it won't cost us an arm and a leg to upgrade.

Something's wrong with your setup if that's the case! What're your video output settings, for starters?

Re: Sky Sports HD Poor Quality

Is it any better if you untick 2160? It would mean your TV upscales from 1080, perhaps worth experimenting with.

Although I'm minded towards a dud cable if you get that bad a picture from Sky HD.

Re: Sky Sports HD Poor Quality

Hi HavencroftKev,

It might be worthwhile experimenting with the different display settings.

have you tried letting the TV do the upscaling rather than the V6?

Some people just have the 1080p and 1080p (pass through) selected on their V6

Others like myself with a 4K TV only have 2160p and 2160p (pass through) selected and for me the picture is the same on Sky Sports and BT Sports.

Re: Sports HD Poor Quality

I will try messing around with the settings.

I'm not convinced about the cable change though as BT sports HD is superb quality as is all other HD channels.

It is just Sky Sports HD that I find dodgy.

Re: Sky Sports HD Poor Quality

Same here, just tried all the settings suggested but no difference, so blurry.

Re: Really poor picture quality ( low bitrate ) on Sky Sports and BT

501 and 502 have definitely been blurry all Christmas. BT on the V6 fine, as is Prime football.

Re: Sky Sports HD Poor Quality

Glad it's not just me with this problem. The quality is miles different to other HD channels. Yes blurry is a adpt discription.

Re: Sky Sports HD Poor Quality

Update... Since I have been watching more sports lately I have noticed the poor picture issues are only when watching football.  When I have been watching NFL and the Americas Cup the picture quality was great.  Any ideas??
