Lg Soundbar Sound issue.

Hi

I am having a sound issue when watching recordings which are recorded from your sky cinema channels.

The problem doesnt happen on all movies from sky cinema. Just the odd ones. My work around is to stop playback then resume playback. This seems to then get sound from the actors. When i play the recording. The actors mouths are moving. But with no sound. I dont seem to have issues when recording from other channels. Just sky cinema.

Any advice please ?

I have my v6 tivo audio settings set as dolby digital. as this is the setting lg advise for my soundbar. as my soundbar gives out surround sound with sound affects from movies.

My Lg soundbar is connected via optical lead from my sony bravia tv.  My V6 is connected via highspeed Hdmi to my tv. Its plugged into Hdmi 1 Arc. My Lg soundbar model is : LAS26OB. I dont get any picture drop outs. Just sound issues from sky cinema when recorded. Other channels record with no sound problems what so ever.

I would have thought the best use of ARC would be sound bar to TV. That's certainly how mine is connected...

Maybe worth a try

But unfortunately my soundbar doesn't have a hdmi connection. Only a connection for an optical lead. Which is what I'm using.

There is a firmware update for your soundbar from here which may resolve the issue.

Switch the optical lead from TV to soundbar. Plug the HDMI cable into a non-ARC HDMI port.

My soundbar doesn't have a hdmi connection. Only optical ๐Ÿ˜. It's connected as advised by manufacturer ๐Ÿ˜€.

Theirs no fault with my soundbar. It's the way sound from recordings is played through my soundbar ๐Ÿ˜. Virgin have been trying to resolve the issue. They've put a work order on my account to try and sort the fault ๐Ÿ˜.

The loss of the dialogue channel is usally instructing the set-top-box to output 5.1 when the soundbar can only receive 2.0.

Have you set the V6 audio to PCM output?

That makes sense. As my soundbar is a 2 channel model ๐Ÿ˜. 

I will see what the virgin tech guys say when they eventually respond. But they could say what you've just told me ๐Ÿค”.

If your soundbar is 2.0 - then TiVo audio output should be set to 'Dolby Digital to PCM'.

Try that to see if the missing dialog returns.
