I'm not familiar with Hisense but for HDR to work I'd use 'HDR Theater' Picture Mode and HDMI Format set to 'Enhanced format'. If you can't get it working I suggest posting on another forum or contacting Hisense UK.

First time poster - same here! I have a Hisense A7G. The BBC iPlayer Frozen Planet II HDR HLG test is beautiful. But Sky Sports UHD? Dark and dull.

Any thoughts please?

In both cases is it the iPlayer through the Virgin Media box you've used?

Yes. My only thought is that they are not live.

I wish I could send a video. When switching from normal HD to uhd the virgin box drops its signal and then comes back on in uhd mode. For a split second the picture is in full brightness and then drops down greyer.

I watched BT sport on uhd last night and the picture was fantastic.

I just don’t get it. It’s like the V6 box takes over the brightness.
Grateful for any ideas..

Same here as above. Played Frozen Planet II via iPlayer on the V6 and was fine - Sky Sports UHD is noticeably duller.

You cannot compare the UHD channels of BT Sport and Sky Sports as only the latter are broadcast with HLG, and it's the HLG that your TV is not processing correctly.

Frozen Planet II is also not quite comparable, being recorded content streamed from the BBC iPlayer app.

Hi, yes I’ve checked the gamma setting. This doesn’t make a difference. Still dark picture.

what I can’t understand is why BT SPORT ULTIMATE ch 531 works fine and the picture quality is fine. Sky Sports UHD channels 532, 533 & 534 are still dark. Sky Cinema UHD box sets are also fine.

The Sky Sports UHD channels are broadcast in HDR. Some TV's, especialy Samsung's, and older TV's that support UHD  have problems with this format, even those using Sky Q devices.

thanks for the response, my tv is a Phillips, probably about 4-5 years old.

disapointed if there’s nothing I can do about it?

I upgraded yesterday to sky sports UHD thinking I would get the same quality picture as my Bt sports ultimate UHD.

However I was left with a really dark screen and the normal hd channels were better. So I phoned back up to cancel where I was told it down to my Tv (which I may add is 4K and only 2 years old) I did advise customer service that it wasn’t as my Bt sports UHD shows great. I can only assume there is teething problems. Has anyone else had this issue?
