I really hate the way the 360 forces these startup ads in your face (first world problem I appreciate)
and yes you can press a button to dismiss it... but is there any way to turn OFF these forced adverts?
No interest in football or ITVX
(it's not like they've advertised it anywhere else! 🙄 )

Hi moof,
Short answer is you can't turn them off, bet you were expecting that, easy enough to get rid of through by pressing any button.

kinda expected it 😞 just find it irritating.. a lot like the UI of the 360 IMHO
I know we have to move with the times, but I guess the comfy old TiVO and then the V6 just worked in comparison to this thing
cheers

My 360 has always been set to off since that setting was introduced, I am sure it wasn't there originally and I still get the Virgin pushed Home page adverts, it's something you can't turn off.
If anything the option should be to turn it on and then give you choices to select what you want to know about.

VM use that holding area on the Home screen so they can show a message to customers regarding any changes.
The ITVX image has now been repalced on my 360 with an image advising VM TV custoemrs with a Stream or TV360 box that they can "enjoy our Virgin TV Ultra HD channel at no extra cost".
That holding area may also be used to promote other channels, channel changes, programs. chargeable movies form the VM Store, new apps etc.
I don't tend to see that Home screen banner message unless I turn off my 360, or there has been a system update.
