Will the 2 V6 still be able to access each other’s recordings wirelessly over out  local network, like they can at the moment? I assume so but just checking.

Yes the boxes will be able to see / stream each others recordings, but note when the software is installed the box will be wiped clean i.e. no recording or series links.

No both boxes will get thhe full software, and as all VM boxes will require a coaxial connection so you will not be able to place the box in another room if it doesn't have a coaxial cable, VM UK's boxes are not IP based they require the coaxial cable, even the mini box requires a coaxial cable.

That’s disappointing I was under the impression that this was a selling point of the mini box that it acts as wireless extender to the bigger box much like sky Q that can be moved anywhere in your house hence the 360 selling point

The requirement of a coax cable completely defeats the object of this 

I get that the current V6 box wouldn’t do this and a simple replacement to a mini would solve it

Sky Q mini boxes don’t have recording capability, storage, and can’t access ultra HD content or recordings.

It’s a trade off.

You can move the mini box around the house and stream recordings and catch up tv from the main box, BUT you will not be able to watch live TV streamed from the main box. The advertising seems to suggest you can move the mini box freely around the house and watch TV anywhere, maybe they can update the software to utilise one of the spare tuners in the main box to stream live TV to the mini.

Live TV on the 360 mini boxes comes down the coax. No coax, no Live TV.

I don't see that changing as Virgin Media will provide the appropriate coax connections for any additional box, and wouldn't sell you an additional box if you don't have the coax where it is to be used.

I must add that Virgin would not want a lot of unterminated cables lying around.
