Hi,
So after being forced to convert to TV360 I am confused as to me this feels like a step backwards.
Their may be a way to fix the issues I am experiencing which were standard with the V6 box and software before this.
Due to the upgrade we lost our recordings as expected but when then going back and reciting a series link it no longer in the recorded shows has the previously shown episodes directly from the recordings menu e.g. I start from episode 4 of season 1 the old software would add ep 1 to 3 in the recorded shows unless told not to. I can't see any option other then having to go into explore show and manually find all the previous episodes making it a much more long winded process.
Also we are now getting recordings from all the boxes in the house shared, this isn't helpful we don't want the soap recordings that only one family member watches on the family TV filling up the recordings menu.
Help would be appreciated if these things have options to change!
V6 was far easier and stream lined the only positive I have found from TV360 is the fast forward/rewind function now has no delay when you then resume play but id rather have the V6 box software back which was far more streamlined and easy to function especially for the older generation in the house.

The pooled recordings are how TV360 works, the TiVo/V6 method of each box having its own pool is not replicated in 360.
Partly because 360 is normally one master recording box with multi-room boxes being minis without hard drives. Converting multiple V6 into multiple TV360 masters mitigates for this, but can't alter how 360 uses one recording pool.
V6 allows you to record "new only", "new & reruns" or "everything". TV360 is different.

It's a real shame. I've always been quite happy with Virgin but these issues are definitely going to make me look into the options Sky now offer as Sky were always probably superior in TV with Virgin in the Internet but they seem to have caught up when it comes to the internet but Virgin are getting worse in the TV department.

You should be able to go to Saved > Recorded > See all > and click on the Recorded tab you will see a drop down with the following options:-
Recorded, Recorded on this Virgin TV box, Planned, and Planned for this Virgin TV box. - highlighting "Recorded on this Virgin TV box" will just show those programs recorded on that box. (Thanks to newapollo for posting that).
If you use the Advanced options when setting a series link there are a few options, you can use the "all from this series option" if you have missed a couple and if they are repeated they will get recorded.

Do you need to do that every time you go into your recorded programmes or will it remember and save as recorded on this virgin tv box ? if so that would be that issue sorted at least.
The series issue is more if you see something and its playing episode 4 say but you want to watch from the start and record future the old V6 would record a new series link and start from the specified season/series and add in the recorded section for that show any shows on the catch-up so you can straight away watch rather then wait for possible re-runs. Where now you need to go find the show in information then find episodes and start from there, its just making more of a hassle rather then having it all there in one place ready to go and doing the work of finding it all for you.

Every time.
Experiment setting a series link and select Advanced options and see the options available.

If it was a setting that saved then problem solved but sadly not then.
I have had a play around and doesn't look like any way around it and getting the ease and functionality of the V6 with this new software.

If you do go to Sky all your recordings will still be shared because you only one box with a hard drive AFAIK.

Yes just options I will have to look at if unable to get any updates or resolutions from Virgin

VM are hogtied by the basic structure of their new parent companies platform, so while they can make some changes, they can’t just do what they want. Some TiVO features like Wishlists were patented features & cannot be duplicated.
