Re: 2021 price increases

Sky and BY clearly state your price will increase every year.In theory virgin can put up prices whenever they wish.As stated earlier your discount will stay the same but the package price may alter. This is obvious really or otherwise your price you pay would never change

Re: 2021 price increases

The point is that your total monthly package charge would/should only change after the agreed contract period.

Re: 2021 price increases

Yes they can change whenever, part of the problem now is that we are in Lockdown, broadband isn't an option frill, it is like water or gas, and only a fool would try and switch operators during this period.

Virgin instituting a 9% increase during Lockdown when customers are 'unable' to switch without risking losing a vital service is against the spirit of the Virgin's license.

I signed a contract only 4 months ago for a price of 46£ and now told that the price we agreed is too low is poor

It will if you have negotiated a fixed price rather than a discount. I have the former so I don't need to worry about the price increase. However you can apply section n if you believe the price rise will disadvantage you financially and go with another provider.

Re: 2021 price increases

If customers have negotiated a fixed price or negotiated a discount the result is the same, the total monthly package price will have been reduced and therefore this price should be honoured for the agreed contract period.

Re: 2021 price increases

Agreed.
i can’t see how there is a different application of the increase based on the notion of a negotiated fixed price or a negotiated discounted price.

when I spoke to the representative they didn’t negotiate a discount they gave me the price (£46) and how that was the best they could do etc.

Based on pricing for there website you will be looking at a £3 month rise to bring it inline with standard pricing, you will still receive a £27 discount though.
