Telephone switchover - unsuccessful!!

I have done everything that was asked of me...'nothing'. Today (13th Sept) is our switch day...cant get any dial tone - nothing

Spoken to Virgin techs - twice - not much help....technician booked for 19th!! 

Not much help as the landline is my only communication - full time home carer....how do I calll services for the person I look after???

HELP please
