just received an sms from a mobile number:

Hi, it's Virgin Media. On 15th January 2024, your home phone service will be switched to our fibre network. We'll send you an adapter(s) as you need to connect your home phone to the Virgin Media Hub so you can continue using it. Reply with ACCEPT to be switched over or with CALLBACK if you need help.

Firstly, I would like to check this is legitimate
Secondly, I use my virgin media hub as modem only mode and use a 3rd partyWi-Fi mesh system as it’s better coverage than the standard ISP provided hub. Will the phone port still work in modem only mode? I do not want to use the hub for Wi-Fi!

I can confirm that this text message is legitimate. 

Your Hub will have two TEL ports which will be needed for the landline service. You'll be able to continue to use the first ethernet port for modem mode as normal 😊
