Re: Everything You Need To Know

Thanks for the response.

Unfortunately our lines will be moving to fibre.

Once of course would be required to be slotted in where the router is, then the remaining handset can be dotted in the required spots.

Thanks,

Kain

Re: Everything You Need To Know

Hello Kain,

How would the other devices on the extension sockets connect to the fibre system? Would the virgin installed extra sockets be somehow connected to it?

Thanks

Re: Everything You Need To Know

Hi @ambey

Thanks for the reply

Can you please elaborate on what devices you mean please? Do you mean your two other handsets - the devices would need be compatible of pairing to the Hub whether via extensions or using cordless phones etc.

Re: Everything You Need To Know

The main phone is dectl with another one slaved to it.

The other devices on installed extension sockets are a dial out burglar alarm, a 1927 candlestick phone, a trim phone and a conventional land line phone.

This is a 5 bedroom Victorian house.

Thanks

Re: Everything You Need To Know

Hi @ambey

Thanks for the reply!

If the devices are compatible with the 21CV system running via the extensions then this will be absolutely fine 🙂

Re: Everything You Need To Know

Hi Travis_M

I have no idea what a 21Cv standard is. All I can say is that devices work fine on the current virgin twisted pair system.

Is the new fibre system compatible with the existing twisted pair system? If it is, how will you make the current extension sockets work with it?

Thanks

Re: Everything You Need To Know

Hi @ambey

Thanks for the reply!

All that happens with 21CV is the twisted pair copper wire used with the old master socket is replaced with a socket on the hub, if you was looking to have for example, different phones dotted around the house - we'd advise to replace the corded telephones with cordless as the main socket will be located on the hub.

Re: Everything You Need To Know

Hello Travis_M

It is not possible to replace legacy, heritage phones, which work fine currently, with anything using cordless technology. Also, this is a large Victorian house and the cordless signal will not reach all round the house.

Therefore, I need the current Virgin installed extension sockets working using your new system.

Thanks

Re: Everything You Need To Know

Hi @ambey

The best arrangement for the 21CV connection is with a cordless phone system.
Plug the base station into the hub then use as many satellite cordless phones as required.

Re: Everything You Need To Know

Hello Ayisha_B,

Regrettably, it is not possible to use a total cordless system.

Therefore, I need the current devices working, as they are now, on this new system you are introducing.

How will you achieve this?

Thanks
