loss of incoming caller id,s

hi everyone for quite some time now i get a problem where when some-one calls me all i get is a number no name or caller id. if i do a phone reset caller id comes back. its definatly not because all my callers are witholding there id,s. when i recently changed my number with virgin mobie this problem disapeared for a while but notice over back past couple of days the problem is back. has anyone got any idea at all what this could be and how to solve this issue please. phone is an iphone 11.

hi megan_l   i only tried moggys tip yesterday and yes it does occur in other mobiles but cant think for the life of me why as never had this problem ever before. i did changed my mobile number recently and thought the problem had gone away but then i kept being told by my contacts i tried to call you but wouldnt connect but when my daughter got stranded and couldnt contact me that was the last strw. all is ok now after smoggys tip but gaurentee and 2 wks if that it will be back again. i have an iphone x or 11 but rarely have wifi/internet switched on or blue tooth as dont use either really so could this be the problem?

Thank you for the update.

I am happy to hear the tip resolved this for you.

Not having the WiFi/Internet on shouldn't stop incoming calls being received as long as they are not trying to call you via the internet such as via WhatsApp.

Hi Megan_L,

I didn’t try my Sim in a different phone however my wife also has the same problem. We both transferred to Virgin Mobile in July, the same phones did not have any problems with the Plusnet Sims used previously.

hi vikki_m  i didnt say say smoggys tip had worked as only tried it yesterday and hey ho the problem is back allready. just had a text from a friend but no name just a number so cant thank for the life of me whats going on.could it be the sim ?

Just to clarify please, have you tried your sim card in a different phone? so that we can rule out the sim card as a cause of the issues?

hi @vikki_m  yes i have tried sim in another phone wks ago.  this problem has been going on for some months now and my daughter has same phone and with virgin with no problems. my daughter is on a more expensive tarrif than me as she uses internet for uni and i just have cheap very cheap tarrif on mine. my phone was perfectly fine and then it was no contact names came through when some-one called me and the only way i could get them back was a complete reset on my phone. i triead moggys tip yesterday and my nephew called me this morning and his name came up 1 hour later my freind text,d me and just number came up. all very strange

hi @vikki_m   yes when i had this problem recently i did try in another phone and after very short period the same problem arose yet again so put sim back into my iphone. my partners iphone had same problem but after a complete reset has been perfectly fine unlike mine where this problem has persisted for months and just wont go away. MASSIVE thanks for your help with this.

I see. So, to confirm, a reset has managed to resolve the issue for your partner, but unfortunately the issue remains for you?

Is it only certain calls that are presenting "No caller ID" for you, or is this impacting all calls that you receive?
