OK fingers crossed. 

I suspect VM have some keepalive set that is lower than Android hence why the push notifications are delayed until you open the App and it starts talking on the net. Maybe other providers have decided to fix this issue and VM have been sitting on their [Removed] all day for a while.

Tried it and had to uninstall. As soon as I set it up my phone would not connect to the internet at all. Back to my usual trick of turning data off and on again to force it to push!

That sounds weird. Shouldn't happen. Maybe something else is up with your phone. What phone you have ?

 

Didn't work for me actually. I still got delays on whatsapp.

Good shout but I believe the issue is also present on iOS devices, disappearing on 3G and when roaming.

It definitely seems to point to Virgin's 4G network.

Anyone used Voxi, Giffgaff, ID mobile ?

They are also MVNO's so not sure if this is a wider issue. 

I am tempted by Voxi. As long as it works, I'd never get involved with Support.

I was having delayed notifications on mobile data with virgin. Switched to giff gaff no all works perfectly. Cost me a contract buy out but worth it!

The software update on WhatsApp has fixed the issue mainly.

Only have few times where it's delayed now.

Don't understand how...

I can't believe this is still an issue and Virgin are getting away with it!

Shame the CEO email idea hasn't got anywhere. Try Executiveteam@virginmedia.co.uk

That's the email address I got a response from. Had to chase a couple of times but eventually got a call and my money back. At that point of already cancelled my contract.

Submitted a complaint through resolver, got a phone call today. It was basically them trying to convince me that it is my handset despite:

1. Same issue on my old phone, recently got a new one

2. Works fine on WiFi

3. Works fine in other countries using other networks

4. Yes my notifications are turned on

5. Yes, tried reinstalling

6. Yes, i have tried turning my phone off and on again...

They persist on telling me it is definitely not an issue their end. But also because i did not purchase my handset through them, they cannot help me.

"Is there anything else i can help you with today?" 

 

Is everyone that is having the issue on an unlimited everything package?
