Hello all! I have some concerns about the seemingly upcoming switch from Vodafone to O2's network on Virgin mobile. Will there be a way in order to decline the switch to O2's network due to O2's network being completely unusable in my area. I have conducted speed tests using both O2 and Vodafones networks using two separate sim cards and have discovered the following results:
(Results are over a 4G connection in the exact same location using the same device and is averaged over 5 tests)
Virgin (O2 UK) average - 6.09 mbps
Virgin (Vodafone) average - 106.84 mbps
Thanks.

Short answer, no.
Your only solution will be to change to another provider who uses a different network operator - or better still, sign with that operator directly thus removing the risk of being changed networks.

Hi @owenrhys10 thanks for your post here in the Community.
I'm sorry you have concerns with the migration over O2 due to the speeds.
I'm afraid it's not possible to stop this migration, as all mobile phones and SIMs of ours will migrate to the O2 network with no exceptions.
If you do have any issues though once this has happened, please don't hesitate to let us know and we can review further.
Many thanks

Hello all, I recently posted about my findings of the poor service from the o2 network and shared my fear about being switched to o2 and unfortunately the switch has happened and as a result I am no longer receiving a usable mobile data service. I have attempted to work out a solution with o2 directly to no avail. I know that submitting a formal complaint will have no affect. Is there any way I would be able to exit my contract early on the basis of no longer receiving the service I was receiving and therefore expecting. For anyone wondering the download speed via 4G ranges from 0.2 mbps to 2 mbps and in some locations flat out does not work. Due to using a 5G compatible iPhone I am unable to force the device onto 3G which is a step I should not have to take considering the previous network Vodafone was able to provide an adequate 4G (and even sometimes 5G) service.
Apologies for the long message. Thanks!

I am going to send you a private message. Please look out for the purple envelope in the top right of your screen?
