I bought an unlocked iPhone XR a few months ago. My husband used his EE sim only in it for a few months. He’s now swapped to another phone and I just bought a Virgin new sim for this phone. When I insert it it says ‘sim not supported’. Is this a Virgin or Apple issue?
@emmal101, It's an Apple issue. iPhones [in my opinion] have this annoying feature of locking onto the network upon SIM activation and use. This is regardless of whether you bought the phone from that specific provider or not. You can try contacting the provider, in this case EE, and sometimes they can unlock for you. Otherwise you'll have to contact Apple or the place you got the handset from.
