Sim Register failed sim card not registered

My Dad has been a Virgin Mobile customer for 10+ years on pay as you go, sim says not registered on network, A new sim was sent out last week along with a new phone, Energizer Energy E12,  still no joy I tried searching networks on the phone, it sees  Virgin Media 234 30, still wont connect says network selection failed, I tried in a different area just in case problem with the mast, still didn't work. 

Any idea how to fix this?  I also tried turning on and off, remove sim, cleaned  sim tried several different phone's.

Thanks for your post and welcome to our community. 

Very sorry for the delay in replying, we have been really busy at the moment. 

It sounds like the SIM card isn't active, so we'd need to take a closer look at the account.
