Phone number

When I went with virgin I kept my old phone number, did all the stuff with puk number and now when phone or texting it comes up with another number and people don’t know it’s me. Why is this happening?

Did you get confirmation from your previous provider that the Switch out was confirmed and from Virgin Mobile?

It may be that you need to re-do the PAC submission. If it's still within the 30 days of you getting it, you can do that through the Your Account site at https://mobile.virginmedia.com

If it's been over 30 days then you'll need to get a new PAC from your previous provider first.
