Ony one bar and very slow data connection

Hi, 

I just moved from Voda UK to Virginmedia Sim Only Deal (Number porting completed today) and has been struggling with Internet Data connection. I am hardly getting 1 Mbps down and less than 0.5 Mbps down. Checking the coverage in my area (SM5 1RE), it is showing good outdoor and indoor. 

Kindly advise if anything can be done?

Thanks for your post and welcome to the forums. It's great having you on board with us in the Community. 

I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your mobile data speeds currently. For the first 24 hours once the number porting is completing, you may find you have some issues but these should clear after the 24 hours. 

If you are still having an issue this time tomorrow, have a look to see if the steps on this link help. 

Keep us posted on how you get on.

Hey Guys, 

Thanks for your kind reply. 

O2 has finally resolved Phone Mast nearby where I live however I am still having issues signal and data. 

Any advice would be highly appreciated.

Is it only effected at home or when you are out and about as well?

Hi Ash,

It is only affected when I am at home. Even going to upstairs or back garden doesn't help with the signal. I hardly get one bar of signal and H+ for the data.

Does this happen with all phones or only yours? Have you been able to try the SIM in another handset at all?

Yes, I tested the sim on an iphone the results are same.

Are you able to try rebooting the handset and seeing if the handset updates and improves at all?

 

Can you also confirm how long you have been experiencing this issue?
