Contract cancellation

I recently purchased my first contract phone with Virgin, and was awaiting for my phone to arrive, but today i recieved an email saying a request of mine to cancel my contract has gone through, however i did no such thing and made no request, and my contracted phone has apparently been returned to sender. ive attached the email i recieved below, what action should now be taken?

When was it that you purchased the phone and set up the new contract?

Have you had any services with us before at all?
