Compulsory SIM Swap 2020

I have two i-phones with Virgin SIM cards but have been sent a compulsory replacement SIM card for only one of these.

Can anyone tell me why, please.

Re: Compulsory SIM Swap 2020

If you asking why you only have received one sim card rather than 2 is that Virgin have over 4 million customers, they cannot send all the sim cards at once

Re: Compulsory SIM Swap 2020

To add to that, the SIM swap is only where the SIM was issued before December 2017.

Any SIMs issued after that date don't need to be swapped again.

Re: Compulsory SIM Swap 2020

Sent out randomly it seems.

BTW how old are the phones. I only ask because iPhones prior to July 2017 locked to the first network used  In Virginia case this was EE. The new Sims won't work in such cases and the phone will need unlocking by Virgin which may prove difficult at the moment

Advice: If this is the case ignore the new SIM, it will stop working anyway after 30 days. Ask for a replacement when things get better

Re: Compulsory SIM Swap 2020

Another SIM SWAP question.

I am currently stuck out of the country due to covid 19. I will not be back in time to swap to the new sim. How long will my old sim continue working

Re: Compulsory SIM Swap 2020

The letters say it's 30 days after you are sent the SIM, although due to the current situation this may be longer than the letters say and I believe there are text messages going out before any switch off happens.

However there will be a date when it happens even where you haven't swapped the SIM.
