Belgium data roaming is not working

I am in Brussels for few days and the roaming service is a nightmare, slow, does not respond and I tried to join Proximas 4G or reset the network and now even my normal line does not work.. it is not a service standard I could accept. All the networks are Forbidden.

Sorry to hear that, we have no control over overseas networks. Can you do a network search 8-10 times to see if the forbidden disappears ^Chris

4g wasn't working on proximus when I was there last year, 3g was the best I could get there.

Still Forbidden for each network after searching the networks for more than 10 times, I cannot even receive phone calls. Big disappointment.

Have you got roaming activated, on your online account as well as on the phone. That needs to be set for roaming to work. Did you get a welcome text on arrival? And what colour sim card do you have, vm have issued new purple sims since December 2017. If you have the purple sim, you can check/amend the setting.

sim tool

For Android:
Select Apps from the Home Screen
Select Virgin SIM Toolkit Icon
Select Roaming
Select Select Mode
Select Manual
Select International-you are done, go back to Home Screen

To Switch back when in the UK:
Select Apps from Home screen
Select Virgin SIM Toolkit Icon
Select Roaming
Select Select Mode
Select Automatic and go back to Home Screen

For iOS:
Select Settings from the Home Screen
Select Phone Icon
Select SIM Applications
Select Roaming
Select Select mode
Select Manual
Select International and you are done, go back Home screen to retry

To change back when returning to the UK:
Select Settings from the Home Screen
Select Phone Icon
Select SIM Applications
Select Roaming
Select Select mode
Select Automatic mode - you are done, go back to Home screen
**It is critical that you set the SIM roaming applet back to Automatic mode once in the UK or you will not be able to access service when you return.**

Can you try using the sim in another handset as this will rule out if this is a sim or handset fault. ^Chris

The phone is working, I am currently switched SIM and it is picking up the data and it works good. It is the Virgin SIM that is locked out. I tried also the roaming SIM kit but no luck.

Can you log in to the online account and switch the roaming on and off to see if anything changes? ^Chris

Nothing, I have done it, but now also the line does not work. I think my phone roaming connection with Virgin does not work anymore.
