I slightly disagree with this information as I read on the news sometimes ago when virgin media entered into contract with BT, it said Virgin will not be late to roll out new services as it was for 4G.
Makes sense for the big 4 operators, who are the ones shelling out the money in their network/masts to keep the new services to themselves to justify the price points they will have for the new service. Just look at sky's service compared to virgin media. How many 4k channels do sky keep to themselves?. It was the same for HD a few years back.
Plus, people will need new phones as well to get 5g. I know there's a new Samsung s10 that is available now.
My guess for vm is 3 years for 5g, I'd love it to be less than that and be proved wrong.
Probably not till after they sign a new contract. The present one has a couple of years to run.
Also remember that with Virgin moving to their own core network changing signal providers is not going to be the hassle it was in the past as there will be no need to issue everyone with new SIM cards.
Time will tell.
As a Very Insightful Person, I'm here to share my knowledge. I don't work for Virgin Media.
