TV quiet

a question, is the channels sound set by virgin/channel broadcasters.

as my Tv is very quiet even with sound up fully, I have checked sound setting on TV and Tivo box and they are fine, tried to see if cleaning out speakers on TV with brush and hoover to no avail even changed HDMI ports

unless the tv speakers are borked but am sure it is too do with the broadcasting and virgin.

sound in  general on normal tv i have checked setting in TV but changed it in the Tivo box from Dolby to PCM

some channels are louder than others some are very very quiet regardless if it is SD or HD

Some shows to broadcast lower sounds as they have been made in 5:1 , 7:1 sound.

For example if you go onto Netflix and compare it to Live TV you will see a big difference.

Do you have a smart speaker at all?

Most modern TV only have a 20 / 10 Watt speak output which is low for modern content hence why smart speakers are big sellers.

Why you might be watching something in HD which sounds better than 4K because the 4K most likely is filmed in 7:1 sound where as HD is 5:1.

What programmes are you finding this with?
