89 year old dad's Tivo box stuck in download loop

Hi there. My dad is reporting that his Tivo box is stuck in a loop. We have talked him through switching off and on. He has called Virgin Media & they have run the automated checks ... but t's still happening. Any ideas please?

Thanks for replying. It turned out to be a localised problem, which was resolved by the next morning.
We now have access to his online account so we can check for messages!
