Re: SuperHub 5

I just want to know if the SH5 in modem mode will allow the full 1150Mbps of the "1 gig" product over the 2.5Gb Ethernet port. I know it seems logical that it would but, until I see someone report it actually working...

If that is the case then I'd upgrade to the gigglebit service (or even 2 gig if that's coming soon) if they'd give me a SH5.

You probably will not find out for some time because it is only being offered to customers on lower package. Nobody on a 1G plan has the Hub5. It’s NOT a SuperHub, VM have never called any hubs since the SH2ac a SuperHub. They are Hub3, Hub4 and Hub5.

That's not true, people on the GIG1 package have been getting offered the Hub 5.

I do not work for VM. Qualified IT Technician. Grumpy. Enjoys taking things apart to learn about them instead of books.

That's interesting....  can you link us to any threads on here (or posts elsewhere) where that is confirmed?

Re: SuperHub 5

There has been no response from that user to say they have actually received a Hub5. Reading the post it would seem that the user was a new Hub4 user and knowing VM left hand not talking to right hand I think perhaps the requests were instigated before the user had a 1G connection.

Re: SuperHub 5

Regardless of whether 1G users have been offered a Hub5 or whether users on lower tiers who've received a Hub5 subsequently upgrade to 1G, the fact is that, at some point soonish, there will be users on 1G with a Hub5, at which point we can tell definitively whether the 2.5GbE port will allow the full 1150Mbps in modem mode.
