I was wondering if U may be able to offer me some advise about connecting my HP (Windows) laptop to my TV using a HDMI cable.
Earlier in the year I was able to just plug in and go. Now for some unknown reason I can't connect the 2 I have checked I'm on the correct HMDI socket. I have turned TV & lappy on and off in the hope it would kick in? Would U have any suggestions? Is it possible that I may need to update/download a new HDMI driver, if there is such a thing?
Hope U can advise. If U can many thanks in advance

When you plug the HDMI cable into the laptop, with the TV plugged into the other end, does the laptop screen flash for a fraction of a second?
If you right click on your desktop, then select 'Display Settings', do one or two displays appear?
Example below:

Could you right click on your start menu, then select 'Device Manager', and check if anything has an exclamation mark next to it?
Do you have another cable to try just in case?

Checked and no exclamation marks. Checked cable(s)

Ok, it might be worth putting your model of laptop into HP's site to see if there are any new drivers for the graphics card.

Sounds like an idea. So U think it may need a driver update?

Maybe, or, unfortunately, could be a hardware fault.
Certainly worth trying new drivers.
