Hub 4 problem

GordonJH
Tuning in

Hi

I've been successfully running a small family web and email server for several years wired latterly to a hub 3 successfully but since upgrading to a hub 4 at 1Gb a couple of days ago I'm no longer able to make HTTPS or IMAP/SMTP connections from the LAN but can from the WAN. Tracert from a laptop and traceroute from an iMac resolve the to my WAN address.

My son (also a VM customer) told me earlier this evening he was unable to connect from the WAN - he could connect yesterday. After I rebooted the hub he was able to connect again.

Is the connection behaviour to be expected with hub 4 or have I been unlucky enough to have a faulty hub?

Kind regards
Gordon

NAT Loopback may not be supported by the hub 4 and port forwarding is likely buggy you may have to get your own router and use hub in modem mode.

Thanks for the reply. It's rather unfortunate. It worked on Hub 3. Some of the ports that would need forwarding are reserved which is why we haven't used forwarding.
