TV Go registered devices

Hello,

We’ve been made aware of an issue with TV Go where you’re unable to watch on a device that has been registered even though it has been used before on PC or MacBook. This can cause all slots and changes for the month to be used. You’re currently allowed 5 devices with 3 changes per month.

This is caused when the cookies and cache for TV Go are removed / deleted. This is not a fault and is working as expected. To avoid the situation you simply need to change the settings on your browser to keep the cookies active for TV Go.

Many thanks,

Thank you, i will now try and spend a couple of hours of my life getting through to Virgin to do this.

I will let you know how it goes

Finally got through and they have reset my devices.

Up to now all works.

Thanks for your help.

What's the method to fix this? I have been using a Firefox browser this whole time and still have the problem. All cookies are set to save and NOT be deleted.

Virgin - Can you reset my devices at least?

Same issue here.

I tried speaking to someone today who palmed me off and said they couldn't resolve this at this time.

Absolutely disgusting service. I have the same PC registered 3 times to my account now and it won't let me watch it again on my PC until March when I can change a device. Surely there has to be a better way to resolve this.

All Virgin Media seem to be bothered about is resolving issues that involve money.

I sincerely hope this is not the case when I come round to my renewal as I will be gone for sure.

If anyone of any help from Virgin Media can help. Please reset my devices so I can at least try the fix mentioned in this thread. The service is pretty useless yet again.

Thanks

this response is a load of rubbish. i've looked at the new sky q setup in the home and comparing virgin media to sky is like comparing the Victorians (bless them) to the 21st Century. Virgin Media isn't even in the same book let alone on the same page. deleted cookies my eye. today was a big football match on tv and it was spoilt by a problem that Virgin Media knew about 5 months ago. I bet there will be another upgraded Virgin Tv Go in the summer but it will still be rubbish. And have you noticed Virgin want you to fill in their survey as soon as it comes out? not allowing time for the app to be evaluated!

Why has the issue with registering advices not been fixed despite being an known issue????????

I currently am unable to use VirginGo despite paying a significant sum each month for your services, this is not treating me fairly as a customer, totally fed up and on the verge of leaving Virgin and going elsewhere

Well for me....

I have been using the VirginGo app on my PC OK.  On Wed I tried to use it and it said I needed to register my device..... strange as it was OK a few weeks ago..so I did.  Then it kept saying register my device so I did and now I can't use it as I have used all my registrations on my PC and it won't recognise that I have registered my PC.....apparently I can register another device again in March.

It's disapponting as there is no clear way of fixing it.  I'm not sure that if m 5 registrations were reset it would not just gobble them up again in quick succesion.  If registrations is dependent on cookies existing then the App is a bit fragile for use on a PC as I regulalry clear my cookies out.

Same happened to me yesterday.

Was using it alright a couple of weeks ago...then it asked to register my PC and when I did gobbled up all eight available changes.  Prohibited from making any other changes til March.  This App does not appear secure enough to work on PC's.

I had the same issue. Called VM waited an hour to get a "specialist" as the 1st person did not know what to do or what I meant ! Devices reset and was told to use firefox or edge, the issue is with chrome. Working for now let's see for how long.

I've had this problem since November and still no resolution, have four slots taken up by laptop on Firefox and it *still* won't let me watch.

It's nothing short of incredible that this can go on for so long. If anyone from Virgin customer service sees this, can you *please* either reset the account entirely, or take off the four Firefox registrations so that I can have another go?

Thanks, though not in anticipation ...
