Manage my Tivo on PC

bdw
Up to speed

Trying to manage my Tivo and recordings on my PC. The website says ...

Accessing your Planned Recordings

  1. Go to virgintvgo.virginmedia.com using your computer's browser
  2. Select Manage My TiVo
  3. Select My planned recordings
  4. From here you can see your planned recordings
  5. Click a planned recording for the option to change or delete it

I don't see any Manage My Tivo option.

I'm currently able to sign in if I use a Private Firefox window. Some things work, but syncing 2 boxes does nothing - though it reports success.

Sorry to add to this old thread but this is an issue I have been having as well. I thought I would post something I found out. I am using the Chrome app on my Mac at home and everytime I click on the 'Managed My Box' link it trys then fails with the same error as everyone else. I can see it is trying to make a call to https://manage-virgintvgo.virginmedia.com/tivo. The key thing here is it is https which may be the browser forcing it to use a more secure connection. If I go into incognito mode and cut and paste the link as http://manage-virgintvgo.virginmedia.com/tivo (as suggested), as an http link it has worked everytime so far. I can only get it working using the http connection not https and even though I can connect to the Tivo box it no longer has any connection to the app. The app itself still can't see the Tivo box in my devices under Settings-Virgin TV Boxes.

Prehapes it needs someone at Virgin IT can ensure that the link used in their app uses/works with https not http so it works as it should and is more secure.

Any update Gareth ? it's been a year now - it doesn't work for me.

I managed to log on without going the Private Window method just now. That's the only bit of progress I can see.

Gareth, still nothing.  I have the same issue.  What's the latest?

Edit: Chrome Version 88.0.4324.182 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Apologies for the delayed response everyone. we are still investigating the underlying issue. We appreciate your patience.

I get this problem occassionally and the solution is to clear cookies and site data for that page (see help for your browser) and then it works but next time you view any programs it registers as a new device and when I get to the maximum number of allowed devices I ask support to clear devices list.

It's not a solution it's a workaround. I have firefox on MacOs X. The version of MacOs or Firefox doesn't matter as it's been doing it for years.

I hope this helps you. If not, you have a different issue from me.

Hopefully that'll help someone, but I have Firefox clear that data on close. Not that I'm paranoid or anything...

OK. I have firefox set to check spelling as I type but it doesn't! 🙂 Interesting that whatever data is being cleared on close it doesn't include that data which identifies your browser as the same device. If it I get the time out message when trying to access http://manage-virgintvgo.virginmedia.com/tivo/ I click to the left of the URL which brings up a dialogue to clear all the data associated with that page. Then close and restart firefox and the link then works once I've logged in. As I said it then sees your browser as a new device. I should say that I only do this if I can access the page via a private browsing window otherwise it could be that the site is down for some reason or some other connection issue.

So, whilst I can generally sign in (no sign of my credentials, but pressing "Sign In" works), I still can't "copy settings". Is this ever going to be fixed?
