Re: Managing children's internet use with hub3

We do this - as in use a timer plug although I'm not convinced it's doing the router any favours neither does it work with those new pods which seem to take an eternity and more to set up....

But hey, parenting a 13 year old in the midst of a technologically advancing society is like juggling pears isn't it?! I mean throw another on the pile 😉🤣

@PinkieMoo32 Have you tried setting up the parental controls on the devices your child uses?  AFAIK all devices these days have parental controls and many have "screen time" settings to manage usage.

Re: Managing children's internet use with hub3

Hi Scott,

I have indeed - the main culprit seems to be the Xbox Series X so if you have a wonder tool for that, it would save alot of screaming for the controller at 10:30pm, my ever growing 'eye bags' from lack of sleep and most of all - that damn router switching off!

I'm a PlayStation user and don't have an Xbox, but Google says there are screen time settings:

https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/help/family-online-safety/online-safety/set-screen-time-limits#:~:tex....

Also this story says there is an app for that:

https://www.cnet.com/news/microsoft-releases-xbox-family-settings-app-with-screen-time-limits-ahead-...

Hope that helps, if not then I'd try asking for help on an Xbox forum.

  1. Select Advanced Settings then Security then MAC Filtering.
  2. In Add Device section, enter details of device(s) you want to block.
  3. Enter a name to describe your device in the Device Name field
